Muscle Pharm Combat Powder has an interesting blend of ingredients for a protein powder. Let’s go over each one individually and talk about the benefits of each.
Micro Filtered Whey Protein Blend:
- There are 3 parts to this blend. You have your whey concentrate blend for immediate bioavailability, whey protein isolate, and whey protein hydroslate. The isolate allows you to give your body a variety of whey proteins. This gives your body instant gratification and prolonged sustained nutrition.
The Whey Protein Hydroslate is the finely processed whey protein allowing for absorption in as little as 10 to 30 minutes. It is extremely bioavailable allowing your body to start the repairing process almost instantly.
- This is the powerhouse of timed release amino acids/ protein. This will allow your body to stay in an anabolic state thanks to the constant supply of small amounts of protein over an 8 hour period.
Egg White Albumen:
- Water soluble protein. The egg white is mostly water, but contains some very valuable protein as well. Yet another great source of effective protein.
- This amino acid is essential for fueling your immune system among other functions. It helps to keep your body anabolic. If you are deficient in this amino acid your body will consume your skeletal muscle tissue (which is horrible of course).
- Unique in the fact that it helps to burn fat but not muscle tissue. More importantly, it’s one of your essential branched amino acids required for effective muscle repair.
- Also one of your essential branched chain amino acids. This amino acid can help with the central nervous system and insomnia. It also helps to regulate the immune system.
- The 3rd and final branched chain amino acid to complete your BCAA”s. This amino acid helps to increase endurance of muscle fibers and the repair of damaged tissue.
- Used to balance the nitrogen and glucose levels in the body. This of course helps to maintain a healthy blood sugar level and increase energy levels.
Lysine:
- This amino acid helps to enhance the health of your body tissue. This includes bones, tendons, skin and muscles.
- Amino acid that helps with the product of nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps to transport oxygen and nutrients to your muscles to aid in muscle recovery.
- A non-essential amino acid that help with brain performance. This includes memory and may help to prevent schizophrenia.
- Helps to improve and maintain a healthy sex drive. It also may help with controlling anxiety.
- This amino acid is sometimes used as a supplement in itself. It helps to reduce body fat, decrease anxiety, improve your mood, and help your brain work effectively.
Cystine:
- Helps with the immune system and regeneration of hair skin and nails.
- Helps the cardiovascular system and the health of your liver.
- Helps to decrease the want for alcohol. Also may help with arthritis and Parkinson disease.
- Like many amino acids it helps to regenerate skin, repair muscle, and fuel the immune system.
- Involved in the funtrion of RNA and DNA production which is essential for muscle growth.
- Important for maintenance of the central nervous system and is a neurotransmitter enhancer.
- May be helpful for treating depression and of course like other amino acids assists in muscle repair.
- Now we’re talking turkey. This amino acid makes you feel tired and relaxed. It also helps stimulate the production of the human growth hormone.
Protease:
- Helps to break down the proteins in your stomach and absorb them in your small intestine.
- Helps those that are lactose intolerant. It helps to break down proteins and nutrition found in dairy products.
Final Thoughts:
The body building community loves this supplement. It clearly is one of the best supplements for muscle gain. The question is, is it the best protein powder you can buy?
Well, it’s great quality. It possesses all of the elements that a high quality protein powder should have. One important thing to note is that it doesn’t contain a lot of sugar like cell tech hardcore does.
One little draw back that I don’t like is that it uses natural and artificial flavors. For this reason, as far as protein powders go, I still prefer Optimum Nutrition 100 Whey Gold. But hey, that’s just me.
