BSN Syntha 6 Review | Best Protein Supplement Ever?

BSN Syntha 6 Review: Everyone who workouts out, whether it be cardio, weight lifting, or any other true form of exercise, should be consuming a high quality protein shake after their workouts. There is simply no better time to ingest protein, especially an extremely high bioavailable protein like whey. The only question here is which whey protein is best? In my opinion, it’s hard to beat Optimum Gold Standard 100, but after looking at some BSN Syntha 6 reviews, Syntha 6 is a top contender.

What Makes It Unique:

There isn’t a whole lot that makes this protein powder all that special. BSN simply focuses on delivering a high quality, quick absorbing and great tasting protein shake. Many people have reported that it’s the best tasting protein shake they’ve ever had. But let’s face it, taste it great and all, but we really want functionality. Let’s take a look at the proteins that are used in the Syntha 6 blend.

Whey Protein Isolate: This protein source is micro-filtered. This process allows for quicker and more complete absorption. The idea here is to have a quick burst of protein available to your system. This protein provides a consistent stream of protein for a calculated short term duration. Typically this protein will be fully processed by your digestive system within 1-2 hours.

Standard Whey Protein: Once again, this protein is micro-filtered as well to ensure the highest absorption rate possible. However, this protein differs with it’s time release. Standard whey protein is designed to be released and absorbed after 2-3 hours of consumption. This ensures that you stay anabolic after your workout.

Egg Albumen: Call in the reinforcements. That’s the concept behind this protein source. Egg albumen helps out with the standard whey protein by releasing at the same rate of 2-3 hours after consumption. Your body is in an anabolic window during this time. For this reason it’s critical to have a constant supply of protein.

Nutrition Stats: One rounded scoop (1 serving) of Syntha 6 will provide you with 5 grams of BCAAs, 22 grams of protein, and 6 grams of fat (2 of those grams being saturated). When you compare that to Optimum Gold it’s very similar, but not the same. Optimum Gold Standard 100 provides you with 24 grams of protein, 5.5 grams of BCAAs, but only 1.5 grams of fat (0.5 being saturated).

It’s worth mentioning that Syntha 6 uses sucralose. Sucralose is a derivative of the sugar molecule and is a prefered sweetener since it doesn’t result in hardly any calories. BSN also doesn’t use artificial food coloring. For Syntha 6, natural vegetable coloring is used in their powder.

So as you can see, Syntha 6 is a very solid protein supplement. But what does the rest of the world see? Let’s take a look at what people are saying about Syntha 6.

Reported Pro’s:

1) Gains muscle

2) Good source of protein before going to bed

3) Great supplement for a meal replacement

4) Tastes fantastic

Reported Con’s:

1) A little bit expensive

2) Makes you gassy for the first week

3) Flat out too expensive

4) A bit too much fat content

Final Thoughts:

In my opinion, this is truly one of the best supplements for muscle gain, but Optimum has them slightly beat with Gold 100. Syntha 6 is a little more expensive and has a little bit too much fat content for my liking. I like to control the amount of fats in my protein shake using omega oils, grape seed oil, or extra virgin olive oil.

Overall, this is a great protein shake. It might not be the best protein shake to try cutting with unless you stack it with a product like Oxyelite Pro Super Thermogenic or something due to the extra saturated fat content. If you’re looking for a high quality protein source with phenomenal taste, Syntha 6 is worth a shot.
